All of us, at sometime or another, has made a job title, number on the scale, dollars in the bank, or particular purchase a "goal." Yet once achieved, we are still frustrated and the happiness doesn’t last.
We tell ourselves that it’ll be worth it when we get there so we work really hard and endure our way to the “goal posts," all in the name of making a better life for ourselves.
I totally agree that focus, determination and results move our lives forward, but too often we set our sights on the wrong goal and are stuck in this uptight “doing” mode that robs us of our vitality.
I want to teach you how to do the opposite and to make goals with soul. Goals that last. Goals that light up your entire being. These goals have nothing to do with a number, title, or purchase. They have everything to do with how you think those particular things are going to make you feel.
The Desire Map by Danielle LaPorte invites us to reprogram how we set goals for our life by asking the question "how do you want to feel?"
